Caffeine helps reduce pain from muscle soreness better than naproxen, aspirin and ibuprofen.
A study done by researchers at the University of Georgia and published in The Journal of Pain, found that caffeine consumed before workouts reduced muscle soreness by 48%. Naproxen gave a 30% relief, aspirin 25%, and ibuprofen showed inconsistent results.
The best results were found with people who don't regularly drink coffee because they are more sensitive to caffeine than those who drink coffee routinely.
