Coffee Prevents Skin Cancer

Enjoy a cup of coffee and help yourself in the prevention of getting skin cancer.

According to the National Cancer Institute, malignant melanoma is the fifth most common cancer in the U.S.

Sun damaged skin cells naturally self-destruct, but at Rutgers University studies with mice show that drinking caffeine increases the process by 95 percent.  Additionally,  exercise increased the destruction by 120 percent.  Tests revealed that for mice who drank caffeine and also exercised the skin cell destruction was increased by 380 times compared to those who did neither.

A study conducted by the National Cancer Institute's Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics found that drinking 4 or more cups of coffee a day lowered the risk of malignant melanoma by 20 percent.
