Carbon Dioxide Aids Tomato Production

Carbon dioxide emission is the culprit of global warming according to scientists. But at a greenhouse in Leamington, Ontario, Canada tomato plants will use the carbon dioxide.

In the spring of 2007 a new electrical and heating system will be installed at the greenhouse. Instead of being expelled into the atmosphere where it would add to the global warming problem, the excess carbon dioxide gas produced will be used in the greenhouse as food to promote faster growth of the tomato plants.

Leamington is known as the Tomato Capital of Canada.

Tomatoes are a very healthful food to eat and are very easy to grow.
