Celebrate Potato Chip Day

March 14 is National Potato Chip Day.

At 1.2 billion pounds a year, Americans eat more potato chips than any other country.

Potato chips were invented in 1853 when Native American Chef George Crum created them at Moon's Lake House in Saratoga Springs, New York. They were called Saratoga chips.

Potatoes are easy to grow in a small backyard garden and potato chips can be easily made in your own kitchen.
