Irradiated Garlic

With the new regulations stating that all fruits and vegetables have to be irradiated that also includes garlic.

Garlic contains allicin, the health giving substance responsible for having antibacterial properties and many other health benefits.

In 2006 the U.S. imported 138 million pounds of fresh garlic. China is the number one supplier with 66 percent! Australia imports 90 percent of it's garlic. Thailand, on the other hand, has banned importation of garlic.

Other than buying fresh garlic from farmer's markets, the only sure way to be sure the garlic you're consuming has not been irradiated is to grow your own.
