Soil Produces New Antibiotic

Scientists in Haiti have found a microbe in the soil which may be the source from which a new powerful antibiotic may be produced.

For years children played in the dirt and were healthier than many children are today despite all the new and improved cleansers, soaps, and other housecleaning practices. But this over cautiousness has caused more problems instead of solutions. Even most hospitals use alcohol-based hand cleaners instead of antibacterial washes that most people use everyday in their homes.

The overuse of antibacterial cleansers along with doctors prescribing antibiotics for almost everything including the common cold, has caused many antibiotic-resistant bacteria.

Many natural foods such as garlic are very effective in fighting disease causing germs.
