Hummingbird Gardens

 

 

To attract hummingbirds to your garden plant the flowers that they love. Plant easy to grow annuals for hummingbirds.

Hummingbirds love red flowers. While these aren't all annuals they are all excellent for hummingbirds. Plant bee balm, butterfly weed, columbine, cardinal Flower, coral bells, cosmos, dahlias, four-o'-clock's, fuchsias, morning glory, petunias, zinnias, trumpet vine, or honeysuckle.

Deadhead the spent blooms so that the plants continue to produce more flowers instead of going to seed.

Keep the garden free of weeds. Burdock, commonly called cockle burr, is one plant that deadly to hummingbirds.
